On Tuesday, March 12, the Today Show aired a wonderfully positive segment about the American Queen. In their “Sarah Breaks Out of the City” segment shown in the fourth hour with Kathie Lee, Hoda and Sarah Haines, they featured Sarah’s footage from time spent aboard the American Queen. The clip showed Sarah in the engine room with our engineers, interviewing Captain Greg Brown out by the paddlewheel, throwing mooring lines at the Oak Alley plantation landing, singing and dancing from the Grand Saloon and finished by sampling the Culinary Director’s fried chicken and champagne on set in their New York studio.

Sarah engaged in a rowdy rendition of Proud Mary with waiters in the dining room, the Captain, Pilot and other Deck staff in the wheelhouse, with passengers at the piano and with shorex staff at the Oak Alley plantation. Because of copyright restrictions on this portion, we are only able to upload a shorter two and a half minute segment to the AQSC website.  The full piece ran to four minutes and forty seconds.  The Today Show staff’s single complaint was they had too much fun footage to run.  We were fortunate to get this much airtime into the homes of four million Americans.
