Day 3: Biltmore Estate, NC

We’ll start off the morning with a guided city tour of Asheville, visiting the Grove Arcade, Grove Park Inn and Basilica of St. Lawrence before heading beyond the gates to tour the Biltmore Estate! We’ll even enjoy lunch on the estate at the Deerpark Restaurant.

Day 4: Great Smoky Mountains

Wave goodbye to Asheville as we board the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad this morning! We’ll ride through Nantaha Gorge, along the Little Tennessee River, around Horseshoe Curve and Fontana Lake Trestle! This afternoon we’ll check in to the Park Vista Resort in Gatlinburg for our 2-night stay in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Day 5: Great Smoky Mountains

This morning we’ll tour the mile loop road through the Smokies known as Cades Cove. Keep your eyes open for pioneer homesteads and wildlife. Tonight, we’ll have dinner together at the Old Mill Restaurant.

Day 6: Nashville, TN

Continuing our journey west, we arrive in Nashville – Music City USA! Tonight we’ll stay at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Will you take in a show tonight? Explore the Country Music Hall of Fame? Stand in awe at the full-size replica of the Parthenon? The choice is yours.

Day 7: Embark in Louisville, KY

Enjoy breakfast at the Opryland Gaylord Hotel before heading out on our short transfer to Louisville, where the Louisiane waits for us!

Day 8: Madison, IN

Let’s start the day on the Louisiane with made-to-order beignets! Madison is home to a number of buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Or if you’re in the mood for nature, head up to Clifty Falls State Park.

Day 9: Cincinatti, OH

Ready for some chili? Aside from its cuisine, Cincinnati offers many traditional sightseeing, like the art deco Union Terminal or the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Day 10: Maysville, KY

Take in the history by walking along the downtown floodwall, covered with large-scale murals.

Day 11: Marietta, OH

Ohio’s first settlement, made famous by George Washington’s desire to fix Marietta as his home.

Day 12: Wellsburg, WV

History lives in Wellsburg at the fully-reconstructed 18th century Fort Steuben, overlooking the Ohio River.

Day 13: Disembark in Pittsburgh, PA

As our cruise comes to a close, will you consider staying awhile? Pittsburgh has much to offer, from the National Aviary to the Heinz Memorial Chapel and Carnegie Mellon University, not to mention the views from Mount Washington!
