Memphis to Nashville Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Nashville, the capital of Tennessee! Board your ship on the Cumberland River, in the heart of the city’s bustling downtown. Explore at your own pace this afternoon, or unpack and relax onboard while enjoying the view of this beautiful southern metropolis.

Day 2: Enjoy a full day in “Music City USA!” An optional city tour includes the homes of famous country music stars and the Country Music Hall of Fame, a distinctive building shaped like a piano’s keyboard. Explore gorgeous Ryman Auditorium, a National Historic Landmark, and relive history at The Hermitage, President Andrew Jackson’s historic mansion home. On select cruise departures, take in a show at the legendary Grand Ole Opry this evening.

Day 3: This morning cruise to nearby Clarksville, TN. An optional guided city tour includes a stop at a local tobacco farm. Learn about Clarksville type 22 tobacco and the importance it once had on the local economy, observe the production process, and chat with the farmer. The tour continues this afternoon at Beachaven Winery, where you can sample the local vintages and stroll through the expansive vineyards.

Day 4: Awake to the gentle motion of the Cumberland River as we cruise to Kuttawa, KY. Visit the Old Eddyville Historic District on an optional tour and discover this village’s local lore at the Rose Hill Museum, a converted 19th century home overlooking shimmering Lake Barkley. Later, browse for the perfect souvenir at the sprawling Red Door Antique Mall.

Day 5: Relax on the ship today as we cruise gorgeous Lake Barkley, a haven for boating, hunting, camping, and fishing, including some of the best crappie and bass fishing in the country. This afternoon, feel the surge of the powerful waters beneath the ship as we turn onto the Mississippi River.

Day 6: Spend a full day cruising on the mighty Mississippi River! The largest river system in North America, the Mississippi is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the Great Blue Heron, river otters, beavers, deer and even the Bald Eagle. Arrive this evening in Memphis, TN, rising majestically from a bluff alongside the Mississippi River. Memphis is famed as a pivotal location of the civil rights movement of the 1960s, as well as its notable musical roots. Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Al Green, and Elvis Presley all called Memphis home. Today Memphis is recognized for its burgeoning arts community and its signature-style barbecue.

Day 7: Today visit Mud Island River Park and stroll through a scale model of the Lower Mississippi River, then discover the region’s history at the Mississippi River Museum. An optional guided tour of Memphis includes a visit to Graceland, Elvis Presley’s beloved home. Experience rock and roll history at Sun Studio, where “The King” recorded his earliest demos. Drive by the Lorraine Motel and witness the site where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4th, 1968, just one day after delivering his famed, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech. Today, the hotel houses the National Civil Rights Museum, a fitting tribute to Dr. King’s dream of equality.

Day 8: Disembark this morning in Memphis, TN.
