Nothing will help you shake off those winter blues like the Spring Fling cruise to the San Juan Islands! 6-days, roundtrip from Seattle, the Island Spirit will take you to beautiful hidden locations around the islands that no bigger ship could get to. From the moment you come aboard the Island Spirit, you’ll notice the crew’s dedication to personal service, focusing on your relaxation, comfort and enjoyment. You’ll get a good night’s rest, because this ship is the only small ship that runs on batteries at night – no noisy engine to keep you up at night.

You’ll tour historic sites like Hiram Chittendam Locks and Fort Casey, enjoy wildlife at Friday Harbor Whale Museum, English Camp National Park, and an alpaca ranch, and the classic Pacific Northwest cultural sites like Pike Place Market!

The cruise fare includes all meals, plus a daily cocktail hour. We’ll also pick you up and drop you off at the Seattle airport.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Embark in Everett, WA.

You’ll be met at SeaTac Airport by a cruise representative this morning, and board the M/V Island Spirit on the Everett waterfront. After you settle in, you’ll head out for the cruise’s first tour: Boeing Airplane Factory.

Day 2: Mt. Vernon/La Conner, WA.Mt Vernon Tulips at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Starting with local history, we’ll visit the Coupeville Historical Society and Museum, and take a narrated tour of Fort Casey. We’ll also visit the lighthouse before we head back to the ship for lunch. This afternoon, you’ll cross the Deception Pass Bridge on your way to Mt. Vernon for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival! We’ll visit two local tulip farms before catching up with the Island Spirit in La Conner, WA.

Day 3: Deception Pass/Roche Harbor.

This morning is open for your leisure – enjoy a brunch before doing some shopping in town. This afternoon, we’ll transit Deception Pass. The Spaniards had marked this landmark as a small bay. But Joseph Whidbey (Captain Vancouver’s chief navigator) proved it was actually a channel that connected the Strait of Juan de Fuca with Saratoga Passage – hence the name now being ‘Deception’. The captain will take the boat out sightseeing among the islands, searching for Orca Whales and a great place to launch the kayaks! We’ll make port tonight in Roche Harbor, where you can enjoy an evening stroll.

Day 4: Friday Harbor, San Juan Island.San Juan Islands Sculpture Garden

Walk thru the Sculpture Gardens this morning, full of works by island artists. Acres of sculptures await you, and this unique experience will take up our morning. After lunch, we’ll head to English Camp National Park for a narrated tour, then a local Alpaca Ranch – take your camera! We’ll complete our day with a visit to the Friday Harbor Whale Museum.

Day 5: Hiram Chittendam Locks/Seattle, WA.

We’re cruising out of the San Juan Islands this morning, heading south. We’ll transit the Hiram Chittendam Locks, built in 1917. Our Captain will narrate the experience as you watch the ship cruise through the facility. The view will be interesting as we cruise past the homes of Seattle’s rich and famous, include the ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ floating home and the home of Bill and Melinda Gates. Tonight, we’ll gather to share stories and pictures from our trip!

Day 6: Disembark in Seattle, WA.

We’ll still be cruising thru breakfast. Afterwards, you’ll transfer to our coach to visit Pike Place Market. Then we’ll transfer you to the airport in Seattle. Hope to see you again, perhaps on our Alaska or Columbia River cruises!
