Imagine enjoying humpback whales and marine mammals close enough to hear the "rush" of their breathing. Cruising the rugged shorelines and remote bays of Alaska's Panhandle. Bald eagles, cormorants, tufted puffins, loons, and Pacific sea birds right outside your cabin window.
Feeling the need to get even closer to nature? You can enjoy one of our ship's kayaks to explore the "nooks and crannies" of our evening anchorage, or help a crew member pull in a crab trap to check for the catch of the day.

Sample Itinerary, Wrangell to Sitka
Day 1: Monday
Arrive in Wrangell, Alaska and settle in to your room overlooking the harbor. Enjoy a stroll in town, sightsee, or shop for souvenirs.
Day 2: Tuesday
After breakfast, depart on a jet boat tour up the Stikine River. Enjoy the magnificent scenery and the many glaciers. Search for moose and other wildlife. Return for lunch aboard the Island Spirit, then enjoy shopping or touring in town before departing during dinner for our anchorage of St. Johns Harbor on Zarembo Island.
Day 3: Wednesday
This morning, we'll cruise through the amazing Wrangell Narrows, stop for a visit in the town of Petersburg, than move on to our anchorage in Hobart Bay. Take an evening stroll on the beach or enjoy the serenity of the bay by kayak.
Day 4: Thursday
Watching for humpback whales will be a priority today as we travel north to view the Dawes Glacier. We will spend time among the icebergs, watching the glacier calve, and looking for newborn harbor seals. Tonight, we will anchor inside the rarely visited Fords Terror. Wildlife includes bear, deer, and mountain sheep.
Day 5: Friday
More wilderness today as we visit Tracy Arm and make our way up to Juneau. Take a tram ride to Mt. Roberts and enjoy a cold one at the Red Dog Saloon.
Day 6: Saturday
Today, we will enjoy the sights in Juneau. Shop, see the famous Alaska State Museum, and try your luck at panning for gold at one of the gold mines. Evening anchorage at Funter Bay.
Day 7: Sunday
This morning, we will take a tour through the Icy Straits and look for humpback whales and other wildlife. We will stretch our legs in the community of Tenakee Springs before moving on to anchor in Fish Bay, Peril Straits.
Day 8: Monday
Arrive this morning in Sitka. Enjoy a city tour that includes many of the Russian sites as well as the Alaska Raptor Center. See the local Russian Dancers, shop, or visit the museum or Totem Park. Tonight, a gala farewell dinner aboard the Island Spirit.
Day 9: Tuesday
Transfers to airport for flights home or to Anchorage for extended tours.
PLEASE NOTE: This itinerary is only a sample. Included in every tour are visits to Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau and Sitka, as well as all included land tours. Anchorages may change due to weather and/or to find wildlife. Other Southeastern Alaskan towns we may visit include Elfin Cove, Hoonah, Kake, Pelican and Tenakee Springs.
