Empress of the North

Tsar Peter the Great and his wife Catherine the First never saw the Great Land discovered by Vitus Bering during their reign. But had the imperial couple sailed the yet-uncharted coastline aboard the Empress of the North, they would have felt right at home, surrounded by decor that conjures up 19th-century Russia at its height.
Powered by a robust modern diesel propulsion system, the Empress of the North offers for just 223 guests at a time an unparalleled experience of Alaska and the Northwest. Each stateroom – among the most spacious of any cruising ship – features expansive viewing windows, and most offer private verandahs as well. Her onboard galleries brim with Russian artwork such as Faberge eggs and nesting dolls; paintings of wildlife and western settlement; and Native American carved totems and masks.
Above all, the Empress of the North is spacious and comfortable. The Paddlewheel Lounge is ideal for relaxing, enjoying a drink or live music before dinner, or simply watching the workings of the ship's three-story paddlewheel. The 24-hour Calliope Bar & Grill offers casual self-serve fare, from lattes to popcorn and frozen yogurt sundaes-all complimentary. Elegant full-service breakfast, lunch and a five-course dinner awaits in the Romanov Dining Room. And the Gold Nugget Showroom, with its warm lighting, rich mahogany accents and carved ceilings, offers elegance after dark.

Contessa

Private...exclusive...yacht-like... Our most intimate ship, Contessa, delivers for just 48 guests at a time a one-of-a-kind experience of Alaska.
More than 700,000 people cruise Alaska each summer. Fewer than one percent will see it like this: surrounded by yacht-like comfort, with the freedom to tuck into tiny inlets, anchor in silent fjords and overnight next to the massive face of a glacier. You'll access narrow wildlife-rich channels, snug anchorages and remote communities beyond the reach of larger ships. Your visit is less intrusive. More serene. The captain pausing to linger here at a humpback feeding, there at a bear moseying along the shore. Unique shore excursions and guest speakers answer your questions of the day. And each evening, good company, Alaska-inspired cuisine and your amenity-rich stateroom inspire the most pleasant of dreams.

Delta Queen

With her red sternwheel churning the mighty Mississippi and her flag flying high in the balmy blue sky, the legendary Delta Queen is the quintessential American river ship. In profile and in spirit, she captures a time when thousands of steamboats plied the country’s inland waterways. More than 3,000 of them came and went from the wharf at St. Louis each year!
Built in 1926, gleaming with four decks of teak and original Tiffany-style stained-glass windows, the Delta Queen accommodates just 176 guests, all in outside staterooms. Unique touches abound, including a rare ironwood floor gracing the Orleans Room, the heart of the ship's nightlife, and an 1897 steam calliope that was once salvaged from a sunken showboat and sold to a circus. You'll even find the very same ship's bell that sounded out landings for the steamboat Mark Twain rode downriver in 1883.
Come listen to the clang of that historic bell announcing your own shore landings. Dance on the floor Presidents Hoover, Truman, and Carter have graced. Grab a cup of coffee in the Forward Cabin Lounge and watch the sun burn off the mist over the Mississippi. Take your place in history, today.
The Delta Queen's finely appointed staterooms include:

You’ll find modern amenities such as a heated pool and well-equipped athletic club onboard as well.
Featuring six decks and measuring 418-feet in length, the American Queen is the world’s largest river cruise ship, powered by a state-of-the-art propulsion system that combines authentic steam engines and a 45-ton paddlewheel with modern diesel-electric Z-drives.

Mississippi Queen

The idea behind the Mississippi Queen was as ambitious as it was original: Why not combine the amenities of a modern cruise ship with the romance and charm of a 19th century sternwheeler? Why not sheathe it in steel and incorporate the latest in propulsion design – while offering interiors that embody Victorian grace? That was the vision that led to the debut of the Mississippi Queen, one of the best known ships on America’s rivers today.
With seven decks and more than a football field in length, the Mississippi Queen is large enough to offer multiple lounges and gathering places, stocked library, a theatre, pool and exercise room. Her ambiance is that of a stately Southern home. In the afternoons, the sun slants through white lace curtains, dappling patterns on plush carpets. Overstuffed chairs invite you to relax. Crystal chandeliers and live music enliven the dining room each evening. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Port Gallery offer ever-changing views.
Sit on the back deck and enjoy a mint julep. Visit the ship's Discovery Guide in the Wheel House to learn about the history and culture of the places you’ll see. Imagine how, when the dancer Ginger Rogers descended the Grand Staircase, all heads would turn. It’s easy to see why the Mississippi Queen is a perennial guest favorite.
