Join one of our favorite small ships on the Columbia and Snake Rivers this Fall! The 32-passenger Island Spirit will cruise from the Washington/Idaho border all the way to the Pacific Ocean. The crew is incredibly attentive and friendly, and you’ll all get to know each other quickly. Enjoy delectable local cuisine, prepared by the onboard Chef. Watch the landscape change from wind turbines and vineyards in the desert to evergreen trees and mountains. Catch magical photos as you cruise right alongside the river’s edge, like our agent Nadine did (below).

Westbound Itinerary: October 21-29, 2017

Day 1: Spokane and Clarkston, WA.

11 am pick up at the Spokane airport, with motorcoach transfers to the boat in Clarkston, WA. After moving in to your cabin, we’ll head out for an afternoon jet boat ride in Hells Canyon!

Day 2: River Cruising and Kayaking.

Making our way down the Snake River, you’ll notice the dramatic landscape. Today we’ll talk about the formation of the river, from the ice age floods to the current dam system. This afternoon let’s find a cozy nook in the river for some kayaking!

Day 3: Richland, WA.

In Richland, we’ll head for the local museum to learn about some of old Hanford’s secrets.

Day 4: Turbine Farm and Winery Tours.

Our plan for today involves touring a working windfarm, as well as visiting a local winery!

Day 5: The Columbia River Gorge & Hood River

We’ll tour the Bonneville Lock and Dam today, as well as visit the gorgeous Multnomah Falls! And tonight we’ll make port in Hood River. Local musicians will join us onboard for the evening entertainment.

Day 6: Mt St Helens

We’ll dock in Washougal, WA, and head north to the magnificent Mt. St. Helens, which famously blew her top in 1980.

Day 7: Astoria, OR

Today we’ll enjoy river cruising towards the mouth of the Columbia River. Once docked, we’ll visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum. A great way to see Astoria is by using the town trolley! Give it a try for just $1.

Day 8: Astoria, OR

The Columbia River Interpretive Center is great for views of the sometimes dangerous Columbia River Bar. Climb the Astoria Column for picturesque views of the town and surrounding hills.

Day 9: Disembark in Portland, OR.

After our final breakfast, you’ll be transferred to PDX – Portland Airport. Arrival at airport is approximately 11am.
