Your Itinerary

    1Embark in Juneau
    Welcome aboard the Wilderness Adventurer!

    2Icy Strait/Cross Sound
Wake up in your stateroom, stretching out for your first morning in Alaska. Look out the window: we’re surrounded by hemlock and spruce forests as we cruise through the kelp channels of the Icy Strait. Seals and sea lions may be resting on the rock outcroppings, or dipping into the water for food. Get a closer look by skill, or get your first lesson in a kayak.

    3Glacier Bay National Park
3.3 million acres makes Glacier Bay National Park the 6th biggest national park in the United States – almost the size of the state of Connecticut! Most people only see the same spot of the park. But we’re going to spend 3 days exploring the furthest parts of the park that 99% of visitors never see! The first day might include kayaking around the Taylor Bay sea stacks, or bushwhacking in the forest, or take the skiff to Dundas Bay to watch for humpback whales, bears or wolves! The second day could include riding with the National Park ranger to see the sea lions at South Marble Island, or ask questions about all the sea birds like orange-beaked tufted puffins or black oystercatchers, or listen for calving at the Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers, or watch for mountain goats and eagles along the shoreline of Tidal Inlet! On the third day, head up to the bridge to see the Captain’s view, or put on gummies for a hike across a glacial moraine, or take a polar plunge before running straight for the hot tub, or take a forest walk at Bartlett Cove – if there’s daylight left! This national treasure has so much adventure to offer!

    6Captain's Choice
If you’ve been adventuring too hard, you can always start the morning on deck for yoga with your guide. The Captain will be on the lookout for the best conditions in the Tongass National Forest: would it be better to visit Lynn Canal or Chatham Strait? All our adventure tools will be at your disposal, so you can explore by hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding or skiff.

    7Haines
The trails in Haines are irresistible – choose your speed and intensity level. Haines was once the location of a Tlingit trading outlet. Add in the history of European explorers, the gold rush, and a US Army outpost, and a self-tour of Haines could be fascinating! After our Farewell Dinner, your guides will share their photo journal of the trip to celebrate your amazing week together.

    8Disembark in Juneau
After breakfast, transfer to the airport or extend your stay with a hotel package.

Alaska Awakening

New for 2018, cruise ships will be headed North for Alaska earlier in Spring than ever before. Yes, the weather will be colder, but you’ll be able to experience Alaska as it wakes from winter slumber! Bears, just up from their hibernation, will be rummaging along the coastline in search of fish and other food. Flowers and trees will have begun showing new growth. Although there’s still a nip in the air, the ice has begun to thaw.

Onboard Activities

This ship is equipped for your Alaska Adventure! Onboard, you’ll have access to kayaks, paddle boards, inflatable skiffs, and fitness equipment. There will be onboard yoga or other wellness activities. And you’re always welcome to warm up after your adventures in the onboard hot tub!
