Your Itinerary

    1Embark in Chicago, IL
Stand on deck and look to one side: the stunning skyline of Chicago. Look to the other side: the tranquil waters of Lake Michigan, inviting you to adventure. Ready to embark!

    2Manitowoc, WI
Manitowoc is home to Wisconsin’s Maritime Museum, fitting since the city is Wisconsin’s Marine Capital. The Museum shows off the history of the region, including the building of 28 submarines during World War II. If you’d rather take in art than history, head to the Rahr-West Art Museum, home to pieces from Miro, Dali, Picasso and more!

    3Mackinac Island, MI
Mackinac is the time capsule of the Great Lakes! Motorized vehicles were not permitted, so you’ll rely on horse-drawn carriages or bicycles to get around. The island is home to the Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory, or have afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel.

    4Cruise through Lake Huron
Enjoy views of Canada on the ship’s port side, and America on the starboard as you cruise our second Great Lake – Huron!

    5Wyandotte, MI
Dive deep into American history when we dock in Wyandotte! Optional tours for today include visiting the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn (home of President John F Kennedy’s limousine and the bus made famous by Rosa Parks’ protest), or heading to Greenfield Village, a living history of American life from the founding of our country to modern time.

    6Cleveland, OH
Today, we’re in Lake Erie! Cleveland is a fantastic port and home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Or take an optional tour of the city via trolley. (Or ask your cruise agent to check the MLB schedule for a home game!)

    7Buffalo, NY
MAKE SURE YOU PACK YOUR PASSPORT TO TAKE THE OPTIONAL TOUR TO NIAGARA FALLS! This tour will visit Whirlpool Overlook, Table Rock, and ride the Hornblower.

    8Cruise Welland Canal
The Welland Canal is a gravity-flow canal that will transport the ship into Lake Ontario on our way to dock in Rochester for the evening.

    9Rochester, NY
This morning, explore Rochester before we lower the ship’s retractable pilot-house and head into the Erie Canal! On our way to Oswego, we’ll go under the lowest bridges of the canal.

    10Oswego, NY
Departing from Oswego harbor, enter Lock #8 of the Oswego Canal. One of 4 branches of the NY State Barge Canal System. Cruise the Oswego Canal and then begin your journey on the Erie Canal. After dinner this evening, disembark the vessel to explore Sylvan Beach, NY.

    11Amsterdam, NY
One of the favorite optional tours of this cruise: take an excursion to Cooperstown, NY. In the foothills of the Catskills, you’ll tour the National Baseball Hall of Fame! Definitely a cruise highlight for many.

    12Troy, NY
After we transit the Mohawk River and Waterford Flight Lock, we’ll be able to raise the retractable pilot-house to its full height! Tonight in Troy, we’ll enjoy an onboard musical performance.

    13Kingston, NY
Visit the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston. Or choose an optional excursion to Hyde Park or Vanderbilt Mansion. (Tour of Presidential Library and Museum available eastbound only.)

    14West Point, NY
West Point is home to the United States Military Academy. Take the optional tour and visit the campus and Gothic Revival-style Chapel. This evening, make sure you have your cameras handy: we’ll be cruising through New York Harbor, with views of the Statue of Liberty, Battery Park, Ellis Island, and the NYC skyline!

    15New York City, NY
Take in the view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Battery Park, and the Big Apple’s world-famous skyline. Docked in Chelsea Pier, explore the New York High Line and Chelsea Market. Later join an optional private bus tour of New York City, led by a professional guide.

16Disembark in New York City, NY
Your 16 day journey concludes in NYC today.

Go Where the Big Ships Cannot

Blount carries on the tradition of ship builder and company founder, Luther Blount, who made it his mission to build boats that could take vacationers to the same destinations he wanted to go to. One of his biggest achievements was the creation of the retractable pilot house. Mr. Blount created it specifically for ships to cruise the Erie Canal. He also created the patented bow ramp that makes it possible for passengers to walk from the ship directly to shore.

Blount ships have a Bring Your Own Bottle policy. The ship provides the mixers and the bartender; you bring your favorite alcohol, and you can enjoy the cocktails of your choice without overpriced bar tabs.
