Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Overnight Hotel in Panama City, Panama

Upon arriving at the airport, you’ll be transferred to the Bristol Hotel. Stretch your legs on a walk through the city or unwind from your flight by enjoying the hotel.

Day 2: Embark in Colon, Panama

This afternoon, you’ll join your fellow shipmates for an overland crossing to Colon, where the Safari Voyager and it’s crew are waiting to welcome you.

Day 3: Guna Yala

The indigenous province of Guna Yala is 360 islands of white sandy beaches and palm trees, standing guard to one of the best-preserved Native cultures. You’ll spot their thatched-roofs from the ship. Take advantage of this time to buy the handcrafted ‘molas’ from the Guna, or explore the waters with a snorkel.

Day 4: Guna Yala

You’ll enjoy a second day in the islands, which you can explore by paddle board, kayak, snorkeling, or simply strolling on the beach!

Day 5: Chagres River & Panama Canal

The Chagres River was once the route taken by Colonial settlers, taking the Incan gold treasure they’d found. Fort San Lorenzo was built in the 1500s and has a history of being pillaged by pirates. Keep your eyes open for the hundreds of bird species, as well as monkeys, wild pigs and other wildlife. This afternoon, you’ll begin the journey through the 48-mile Panama Canal!

Day 6: Pearl Islands Archipelago

90 islands and almost 130 islets to explore… where will you start? The islands are almost uninhabited, mostly thriving with flora and fauna and rocky volcanic outcroppings. In the summer and fall, watch for dolphins and humpback whales!

Day 7: Darien Jungle

Is there any place on earth still untouched and wild? The Darien Jungle has remained untamed – an astonishing miracle! You’ll travel the Mogue River by motorized dugout canoe with an expedition guide to point out wildlife. At a local Embera village, listen to the stories and the customs of the indigenous people.

Day 8: Darien Jungle & Marine Life Search

Today, you’ll take a walk through the Punta Patino Nature Reserve – the largest protected area in Central America. Then you’ll search for marine life: sea turtles, small sharks, bottlenose dolphins and more. Enjoy a special farewell dinner and slideshow.

Day 9: Disembark in Panama City
