From there, head to the old Bracken County Jail that was built in 1811. Sitting within Appleman Park, the jail housed prisoners into the 1970's and its history is tied to the Underground Railroad.

The included tour of Point Pleasant will begin in the Riverfront Park where floodwall murals depict local history. Then you’ll head off to Tu-Endie-Wei State Park, commemorating the 1774 Battle of Point Pleasant and home to the 1796 Mansion House. Fort Randolph was once a refuge for settlers against attacks from Native Americans, and was once the farthest most out-post of the colonies.

Marietta is home to the Great Mound, a sacred earthwork built between 800 BCE and 700 CE by indigenous people. Then to The Castle, the best example of Gothic Revival style with its octagonal tower and stone-capped spires! And something for the child inside all of us: the Children’s Toy and Doll Museum & Whipple’s Whimsical Toys and Marietta’s Cola Museum and Fountain Shop!
