This morning, awaken to a new world - the American Southwest! Whether you're in the Sightseer Lounge, or from your seat in the Dining Car, you'll be glued to the stunning views from your window. This evening we'll arrive in Flagstaff, AZ, where we'll overnight at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
3Grand Canyon National Park
This morning, we'll board the motorcoach for the 90-minute drive to Williams, AZ to board the Grand Canyon Railway! We'll arrive at the Grand Canyon Village in time for lunch and personal exploration. This afternoon, we'll take a narrated motorcoach tour along the South Rim to the Desert Watchtower viewpoint. Overnight at the Maswik Lodge, Grand Canyon, AZ. (B)
Today is an unstructured day at the Grand Canyon for you to see the sights that are important to you. The park has complimentary shuttle buses that you can board right in front of our lodge, with stops all around the park. There are also Ranger Talks and trails to walk. 5Antelope Canyon Cruise
We leave Grand Canyon National Park this morning for Page, AZ. We'll enjoy a narrated boat cruise to Antelope Canyon - a narrow slow river of sandstone along the shores of Lake Powell. At the Lake Powell Marina, we'll enjoy lunch at the Rainbow Room at Wahweap Lodge. After lunch, we'll head to Kanab, UT - known for filming many western television shows and movies, including 'Stagecoach', 'Gunsmoke' and more. Overnight at the Hampton Inn, Kanab, UT. (B,L)
6Zion National Park
Travel thru Mount Carmel Tunnel to Zion National Park. We'll take the guided tram tour, learning about Utah's first national park, with stops for pictures and walks. The afternoon is free for you to explore the park on your own. Overnight at the Hampton Inn, Kanab, UT. (B)
7Bryce Canyon National Park
This morning we drive down Long Valley on the way to Bryce Canyon National Park. You'll see the pink rocks, hoodoos, and spires of the canyon. We'll drive off the park to one of the newest monuments, Grand Staircase-Escalante! It's 1.9 million acres of wilderness and the Paria and Escalante Rivers. Then continue to overnight in Torrey, UT at the Capitol Reef Resort. (B)
8Capitol Reef National Park
We'll head to a remote and little-known part of Utah - Capitol Reef National Park! Famous for the Navajo Sandstone which erodes into dome structures, we'll stop a few times for pictures, a look at the Pueblo petroglyphs, and a stop at the Visitor's Center. We'll stop in Green River, UT for lunch before continuing to Moab. Overnight at Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab, UT. (B,L)
9Arches National Park
We'll head out first thing for a tour of the sandstone arches, fins, spires and balancing rocks! After lunch, we'll take a jetboat ride down the Colorado River - a different view of the arches and red rock cliffs! We'll enjoy a farewell dinner this evening. overnight at Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab, UT (L,D)
All aboard the California Zephyr this morning in Grand Junction, CO! We'll be heading east over the Rocky Mountains. Overnight aboard the train. (B)
