On Monday, May 5th, Windstar Cruises newest ship was christened in Barcelona. The 212-passenger vessel is a former Seabourn ship that Windstar has purchased and revamped. The Star Pride is the line’s first new vessel in nearly 20 years, and it’s first without sails!
The Star Pride is one of three ships Windstar is acquring from Seabourn; the other two will join the fleet in May of 2015, and will be known as the Star Legend and the Star Breeze. These acquisitions will make Windstar one of the world’s largest small-ship lines.
The Star Pride will be spending it’s summer in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and will offer itineraries like a nine-day trip from Athens to Istanbul. This years voyages will also include cruising to the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia.
