Can we all just agree that big ships have gotten too big? How many disasters do there have to be? This week, the Royal Princess (Princess’s newest ship) had a blackout. They ended the cruise early, but still plan to make their next cruise date. Repairs are being made to the ship while en route to Barcelona, and plans to pick up passengers tomorrow. I don’t think I’d want to get on, knowing that just a few days before the entire ship lost power. I would be anxious the entire time – especially knowing that the ship is going through the Mediterranean, past Italy… flashback Costa Concordia 2012, anyone? *shudder* Let’s take a river cruise instead, please. Small ships have issues, sure. Sometimes things don’t work, but its such an easier fix. And its more of an inconvenience for 100-200 people, than life-threatening for thousands!
