Vancouver, WA – Local cruise agency USA River Cruises is hosting a lunch aboard American Cruise Lines’ newest cruise ship, the American Song. USA River Cruises is expecting Columbia River business owners, tourism leaders, local press and potential cruisers to enjoy a presentation and tour of the ship on March 22, 2019 at 11am while the ship is docked at the Red Lion at Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon.
The American Song launched in 2018 on the Mississippi River. The American Song will be debuting its first Columbia River cruise on March 16, 2019. This ship is American Cruise Line’s third cruise ship on the Columbia River, and represents the first in their new line of contemporary riverboats. The modern design includes multiple ways to enjoy the view of the river, including a four-story glass-enclosed atrium with domed skylight at the center of the ship.
The Columbia River has grown in popularity as a river cruise destination. In 2019, seven small ships have dedicated Columbia River itineraries on their schedules, ranging in size from 6 to 221 passengers. River cruising brings more than 20,000 tourists to the Columbia River region annually, boosting local ports’ economies, as well as supporting local farmers by sourcing local ingredients for onboard meals. Ports of call on the Columbia River include Oregon ports of Portland, Astoria, The Dalles, and Washington ports of Vancouver, Stevenson, Tri-Cities, and Clarkston, with shore excursions to popular destinations like Multnomah Falls, Mt. St. Helens, and Pendleton, Oregon.
Space for the luncheon is limited to 70 guests. USA River Cruises expects the space to fill quickly. RSVP is required by February 28, 2019.
