Columbia River Wine Tasting Yacht Cruise

Our wine tasting cruise doesn’t just cover the wineries in the region, but also includes excursions that enrich and amaze. Our passengers get to visit the Pacific Ocean at Long Beach Washington, Seaside and Cannon Beach Oregon, visit historic Fort Clatsop, climb the amazing Astoria Column, tour various important museums along the way as well l as tour the historic Bonneville Dam and much more!

Of course no wine tasting tour would be complete without sampling the local wines at some of the best wineries the Coast, Willamette valley and Columbia River gorge areas has to offer. This we do at an un-hurried pace. Since we carry so few passengers, you are never rushed or herded along as is often the case with larger boat carriers.

Daily Itinerary:

DAY ONE (Friday): Passengers arrive at PDX airport. Take a shuttle to your local hotel for the day.

DAY TWO (Saturday): At 10:00 am you will be picked up at your hotel and transported to the boat in Ilwaco, WA. Arrive and settle into your cabin before gathering for lunch. In the afternoon, tour the Lewis & Clark Observatory at Cape Disappointment. After dinner, walk through Long Beach. Empty your coin purse on the turn-of-the-century machines at Marsh’s Free Museum that play music, give a show, and entertain all ages. Walk along the boardwalk, and don’t forget your camera! You’ll either want to take a silly picture of yourself in the giant frying pan, or a gorgeous picture of yourself on the beach at sunset. Or both.

DAY THREE (Sunday): After breakfast, head south along the Oregon coast. In Astoria, you’ll visit the Maritime Museum. Return for lunch on boat, whenever you decide its time (Isn’t cruising on a yacht the best?). After lunch, climb the Astoria Column and then take an exclusive tour at the Shallon Winery, who specialize in chocolate, orange, and cranberry wines. Continue south to Seaside to visit the Buddha Kat Winery. Then to Cannon Beach to visit The Wine Shack and walk out to the magnificent Haystack Rock. If there’s time and you decide you want to, your last excursion of the day will be to visit Nehalem Bay Winery.

DAY FOUR (Monday): After breakfast, you’ll cruise up river to Portland, Oregon. Arrive downtown Portland and dock at Waterfront Park marina on the Willamette River. After dinner, walk downtown to visit Pioneer Square (‘Portland’s Living Room’) and water front park area. Return to the ship at your leisure.

DAY FIVE (Tuesday): Time to tour the Willamette Valley wine and vineyard region. The Northern Dream has chosen the “Sip 47″ winery road tour to visit various vineyards and Wineries along Hwy 47.

Some of the various Wineries on this route are:

  1. A Blooming Hill Vineyard
  2. David Hill Winery & Vineyard
  3. ADEA Wine
  4. Patton Valley Vineyard

DAY SEVEN (Thursday): You’ll take a tour of the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum before riding the “Fruit Loop”! This scenic route is famous for it’s views, fruit stands, orchards and vineyards. The amount of places visited depend on the pace of the guests, time at each tasting and the consensus of the group.

Some of the wineries and vineyards visited include but are not limited to: *
