    4Santiago de Cuba
    Spend two days in Santiago, plenty of time to see all the highlights. We'll visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Céspedes Park. The cathedral was completed in 1526 and was destroyed 4 times due to earthquakes, and has been a national monument of Cuba since 1958. Then it's off to the Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca, a stone fortress built to fend off pirates. Another stop will be made at Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, built in 1868 that houses the José Martí mausoleum. Visit the Casa del Caribe museum to learn about Santería, an Afro-American religion. At the former home of famous painter Diego Velázquez, to view colonial relics. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in town. Enjoy a dance presentation by a local dance troop, Cutumba. Then board a bus for a tour of Moncada Barracks and Antonio Maceo Revolution Square. we'll also visit El Cobre where the statue of the patron saint, the Virgin of Charity, is housed.

    Enjoy afternoon tea and cocktail hour.

    Start your day with the Manaca Iznaga Sugar Cane Plantation, one of only 13 houses left in the Valley of the Sugar Mills. The valley (which is actually 3 valleys,) once housed over 50 mills and 30,000 slaves. The main feature is the 149 foot tall tower, Iznaga Tower, which you are free to climb to the top of. Don't miss out on trying the guarapo, sugar can juice. Visit Alfarero Casa Chich, a pottery studio owned by the Santander family. Take a guided tour through the town to see local artisans and galleries. The Romantic Museum is not to be missed, a beautiful building full of art and furniture, that also has a tall tower offering sweeping views of the whole town.

    Visit the UNEAC, the Tomas Terry Theater, and meet the Chorus of Cienfuegos. Go by coach to Playa Giron, one of the landing sites for the Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961, followed by a museum visit to learn more about the invasion.

    Book a day at the onboard spa for a massage and pedicure.

    Tour local art centers and meet with current artists of Havana. Watch a private dress rehearsal of"Havanna Queens," a show combining Latin dance and ballet. Off to Buenavista Social Club, a former members only club that now house the band, also called the Buenavista Social Club, that has revived the music. See the home of Ernest Hemingway, Finca Vigía where he wrote For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea. We'll also visit Cojimar where his boat was kept.
