    2Embark in Portland, OR
This morning, we’ll all gather for a tour of Portland – a quirky city with something weird for everyone! After everyone’s settled this afternoon aboard the S.S. Legacy, you’ll be treated with champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and beautiful river views as we set off.

3Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area
Witness the engineering feat of the Bonneville Dam lock system from within, then tour the visitors center, turbines and fish ladders! After we’ll head to the stunning Multnomah Falls. If you’re looking for a hike, there’s a couple options. Guides can take you on the moderate, switchback trail that’s 2.2 miles roundtrip, or head to Wahkeena Falls for the 5.4 mile loop (1600 feet elevation gain)! Then back to the ship as we cruise through the gorge.

    4Rowena Plateau/Columbia River Gorge
We’re hoping for cloudless day so that your hiking efforts today will be rewarded with the best views! At Rowena Overlook, you have two options. 1-mile hike to the crest of Tom McCall Nature Preserve, with views in every direction (including the river below). Or the steeper 3-mile Tom McCall Point Trail which will get you 1000 feet elevation gained and spectacular views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood and the gorge. This afternoon, if you’re still looking for activity, you can walk or bike the Twin Tunnels Trail which is the pedestrian-only section of the historic Columbia River Highway. If you’re looking for a way to cool down instead, tour a Hood River orchard and farm. Don’t forget to sample their cider!

Choose Your Deschutes Adventures! Option 1: whitewater rafting with Class II and III+ rapids. Gear and guides provided. The ship’s chef will pack you a picnic lunch to enjoy on your way. Option 2: Deschutes River State Recreation Area. Hike or bike in the canyon, and even take a dip in the river.
