Historic South and Golden Isles

Our Historic South and Golden Isles trip is one of our favorites. And from what we can tell, it’s one of our customers’ favorites, too!

This eight-day trip heads from Jacksonville, Florida, to Charleston, South Carolina (or vice-versa). The Intracoastal Waterway is a series of protected bays, canals and rivers that make up a portion of the southeastern coast of the United States. The Golden Isles refers to a group of barrier islands off the coast of Georgia and the historic mainland city of Brunswick. The islands include St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, and Little St. Simons Island.

There’s so much to see and do on this trip — which features many sites that are a part of American history. Plus, travelers can visit and explore amazing wildlife refuges of untouched beauty while partaking in southern hospitality, culture, and food.

Charleston, for example, is alive with history — everything from cobblestone streets and gas lamps to Civil War battlegrounds.

Stops also include gentle and genteel Savannah, Georgia, a historic city of 19th century architecture. Choose from one of many tour options, up to and including the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force and a guided walking tour of Savannah’s River Street section.
